Equestrian Centre

Calliaghstown Riding Centre is regarded as one of the best known Equestrian Centres in Ireland. The Centre is situated in Rathcoole, in a quiet rural setting in the foothills of the Dublin and Wicklow mountains. For more details click on the link Equestrian Centre.

Beech Park Golf Club

Beech Park Golf Club is on the outskirts of Rathcoole Village in County Dublin.  The golf club is an 18-hole course. The clubhouse is newly renovated and is open to guests of the golf club. Bearna Rua Lodge is the perfect accommodation for the avid golfer, as it is a short distance away from Beech Park Golf Club.

Avoca Shop

There are a number of Avoca shops in Ireland, one of which is situated in Rathcoole Village. Avoca stocks a range of Irish crafts such as linen and pottery as well as many other products such as ceramics, glass, books and clothing. After an enjoyable browse around Avoca, you can relax in their lovely restaurant.

Castletown House, Celbridge

Following an extensive restoration programme, Castletown House, Celbridge reopened last Summer.  It is one of the most important houses in Ireland and in relation to European architectural heritage, is of great significance. The house is open to the public and opening dates and times are available on their webiste.

Irish Stud and Japanese Garden

Situated in County Kildare, The Irish Stud and Japanese Gardens is well worth a visit if you are interested in horses as some of Ireland’s best horses are stabled and bred here. There are also lovely gardens to view and peruse at your leisure, along with a very good restaurant. There is a museum on site detailing the history of horse breeding in general.

Curragh Racecourse

The Curragh Racecourse in Kildare, usually abbreviated to The curragh is an ideal day out.  The Curragh is a premier international horseracing venue and a leading sporting location in Ireland. 19 race day are hosted there form March to October. For more information click on the link above.
